College Football Bowl Projections College Football Playoff Predictions Updated Before Championship Weekend

Bowl projections and College Football Playoff predictions before Championship Weekend and after the penultimate CFP rankings A whole slew of things changed in the last few days since we published our latest round of Bowl Projections on Saturday night. It starts with the penultimate College Football Playoff rankings – which might be a fool’s errand to use as anything concrete. If the committee sticks with its rankings in the end – that’s hardly a sure thing – that affects Alabama, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and potentially Washington. Next, a slew of rumors and news kicked in as programs needed to start thinking about making travel plans. A few other things happened to change these up. Ohio State probably isn’t going to the Rose Bowl. It’ll be time to believe the Rose Bowl doesn’t want the fifth-best team in the country when it happens – and vice versa on the desire from the Buckeyes to go back to Pasadena. Let’s buy in that the rumors are true. If USC beats Utah on Friday nigh...

The College Football Playoff oddities and firsts that can happen in 2022

Mike Lopresti breaks down what this year’s CFP could like with no Alabama or Clemson, maybe the first-ever team from Texas and the first from the Pacific time zone in six years. source https://thedailyncaa.com/the-college-football-playoff-oddities-and-firsts-that-can-happen-in-2022/

College Football North Texas vs UTSA Conference USA Championship Prediction Game Preview

North Texas vs UTSA prediction, game preview, odds, how to watch. Championship Week, Friday, December 2 North Texas vs UTSA Conference USA Championship Prediction Game Preview – Contact/Follow @ColFootballNews   & @PeteFiutak North Texas vs UTSA Conference USA Championship How To Watch Date: Friday, December 2 Game Time: 7:30 ET Venue: Alamodome, San Antonio, TX How To Watch: CBS Sports Network Record: North Texas (7-5), UTSA (10-2) – Sign up and live stream college football on ESPN+ Why North Texas Will Win The Mean Green came close the first time around. They went to UTSA, got the passing game going, and had their chances in the 31-27 loss. As long as they can keep bombing away, they’ll have a shot. Consistency has been a bit of an issue, but no one in Conference USA gets more big plays out of the passing game partly because no on in the conference is better in pass protection. Giving QB Austin Aune time to work won’t be a problem – UTSA doesn’t have much of ...

Jumbo Package: Gump Day!

Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports Hugh Freeze gonna beat Bama, huh? First up, I want to talk a little about Georgia’s rival, the cow college in Lee County. The Auburn Tigers got played by Jimmy Sexton to get Lane Kiffin a contract extension to keep him in Ole Miss until Saban retires, and they then pivoted and hired Hugh Freeze. After their success with Bruce Pearl in hoops, it was a hire that fit like a glove, but I honestly can’t believe they actually did it. It’s gross, and it reeks of a hire made with only one priority: beating Nick Saban… And not creating an actual winning program. Never mind the fact that 2015 was a long time ago, nor that their previous coach got fired after beating Saban more times than Freeze ever did. I try not to give our baby sister site any publicity as a rule, but this is an absolutely phenomenal piece of writing from Jack Condon over at College and Magnolia. Look, maybe we all got a little tired of Gus Malzahn, and maybe it was time for us to part....

College Football College Football Playoff Rankings Top 25 Reaction. Will Ohio State Get In? What If TCU Loses?

Reaction after the third round of College Football Playoff rankings. What to take away from the latest – and next-to-last top 25. College Football Playoff Rankings Top 25 Reaction, Penultimate – Contact/Follow @ColFootballNews   & @PeteFiutak – College Football Playoff Rankings Top 25: Penultimate I dig this time of year. The holidays are here, everyone is in a cheerful mood, the word penultimate comes out of its hole to tell us there’s six more weeks of college football. “Penultimate” is to the College Football Playoff what “stave” is to the NHL playoffs “You’re trying to get me to project.”  – Boo Corrigan, College Football Playoff committee chair to Rece Davis YES, Son. By all means … PROJECT. Are you just yanking Ohio State around, or does it really have a chance to get in if USC loses? Is there any possible scenario to get Alabama in, or should the fan base start the grieving process now? This is the ridiculous part about all of this. We’re going off th...

Random Thoughts: Finally Some CHAOS!

The Wolverines buried the Buckeyes and planted a flag over them. | Adam Cairns/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK All the College Football news, scores, injuries, gaffes, upsets, derps, and snark that you can handle. It took nearly three months, but college football finally had it’s chaos week. There is nothing like Rivalry Week at the end of the season to bring out the hate and the realization that this might be the last game in a college uniform. CHAOS! The Tigers led most of the game and had a 30-21 advantage late into the third quarter when Spencer Rattler connected on a 72-yarder to inch closer. After a feeble three-and-out for CU, the ‘Cocks drove 54 yards and connected ...
