College Football Mike Leach Is Probably The Reason You Like Football

Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach passed away at 61. He changed the sport. Coach Mike Leach passes away, and we are all the poorer for it.

Photo by Michael Chang/Getty Images The most interesting man in college football was also one of its most genuine. I’ve always called him “the most interesting man in college football.” Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach was many things: outspoken, garrulous, controversial, unfiltered. This morning, Mike Leach passed away following a massive heart attack and severe cerebral trauma. He had a cardiac event in his home over the weekend, and was not discovered for several minutes following. He was eventually airlifted to Jackson, but time and lack of oxygen had done their work. The most inimitable pa...

Nate Oats’ squad came in at 4th on this week’s AP poll, with a tough test tonight against a veteran Memphis squad that just handled Auburn.
